ABACUS Updates: Enhanced Filtering, PESTLE Framework for Strategic Analysis

09 May 2020

Filter by Selecting Data in Visualizations

Empower your stakeholders with intuitive hierarchical filtering. Drilling through the model in treemaps, partition maps, and sunburst charts will filter related views.

TODAY Operator

Dynamic date-based filtering is enabled by the “TODAY” operator available in catalog filters. Use the TODAY operator with other operators to find the technologies extending past support dates in 100 days (TODAY+100) or the components modified in the last week (TODAY-7). This filter can be used in ABACUS Studio or ABACUS Enterprise.

Filter by Attachment

Dynamically filter based on modeled relationships. Filtering components by name will filter views of attached components. For example, filtering a (non-aggregated) chart showing capability costs will also filter a Bubble chart and catalog of associated applications, revealing to stakeholders which applications contribute to high-cost capabilities.

Quick Impact Analysis with Drill-Down Diagrams

Impact analysis in ABACUS is now even more accessible; Users can create drill-down diagrams quickly and easily directly from the explorer tree.

Updates to Frameworks & Notations

The PESTLE framework allows teams to identify and monitor external factors that can have an impact on the enterprise. Used in ABACUS, it can be easily incorporated into your existing metamodel to add strategic market analysis of Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Logical, and Environmental factors.
