Deliver governance, compliance and IT transformation across the Medicaid enterprise

Updated on

State Medicaid Agencies and healthcare authorities are discovering that tools and techniques needed for managing compliance with the federal MITA State Self-Assessment program can also be used to deliver wider IT planning and transformation.

Avolution will be attending the Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference — MESC 2017 – to be held in Baltimore, MD on August 15-18 2017. Avolution’s ABACUS toolset provides a tailored MITA framework to support MITA 3.0 State Self-Assessment (SS-A) governance and compliance.

The Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) initiative sponsored by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is a national framework designed to support improved systems development and health care management for the Medicaid enterprise. MITA has a number of goals, including development of seamless and integrated systems that communicate effectively through interoperability and common standards.

Avolution’s Luis Fernandez said: “State health authorities can quickly centralize existing data from CMDBs, SharePoint and other sources to create fast, reusable MITA State Self-Assessment processes. They can also use this data to build roadmaps for managing people, processes, technology and infrastructure in healthcare organizations.

“The detailed architectural information that is gathered as part of MITA 3.0 State Self-Assessment can be a powerful contributor to wider IT planning and enterprise architecture modeling objectives.”

The full ABACUS product suite will be available for delegates to view at the MESC Conference, including both on-premise and ABACUS Cloud (browser-based web-app) deployment options.

Avolution experts will also be available to discuss:

  • Streamlining MITA SS-A governance and compliance with ABACUS

  • Developing an enterprise architecture strategy

  • Application rationalization strategies and aligning technologies with organizational goals

  • Best-practice enterprise architecture roadmapping

  • Using ABACUS for Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM), IT strategic planning, Business Process Management (BPM), Solution Architecture (SOA), IT Service Management (ITSM), Business Intelligence (BI), and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

ABACUS received the highest product score for the Speeding Time to Value Use Case in the January 2017 Gartner report “Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Architecture Tools”*. Gartner has also recognized Avolution as a leader in its 2017 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools**.
